Positive: Lovely feel and atmosphere to this hotel in a ski in/ ski out location. We loved everything about this hotel except the silly onsen access arrangements and timing. (See below). Room and its facilities were clean, modern, good design and relatively spacious. The included breakfast was good, however refills on juice, coffee and tea etc would improve things. We had dinner a couple of times at the in-house restaurant during our week at the hotel and we thought the food was generally good quality and relatively good value. Staff attentiveness and customer service was mixed, varying from excellent, to disinterested.

Negative: Need to change there hotel guest access policy to the onsen/ bath. Only being able to have general guest access in the morning and having to pay an extra 5000 yen for private onsen access in the afternoon/evening is a silly and simply price gouging arrangement. Most guests want to access the onsen in the afternoon/ evening after a day of skiing / walking or exploring. If you want to offer private onsen access booking option, don’t do it at the peak time most hotel guests want to access these facilities. So to make this time by private booking only really detracts from the hotels attraction and unless that changes we probably would look to go elsewhere which is a pity. 9 digit passcode on room doors is painful.
