Positive: The house was beautiful, with a lot of historic charm. There was plenty of space, which was perfect for our large group, as everyone had enough room to enjoy their own space.
Negative: When you rent this property, you have to rent the entire house, which is what we did. We were therefore expecting a private, neutral space that was fully prepared for guests. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we quickly realized that the house was still very much a lived-in home. There were personal belongings everywhere, the kitchen was full of food and other items, and some things looked quite old and worn. At first, we assumed that the owners had simply forgotten to put some things away, but it made us question whether the house had really been properly prepared for our arrival. The rest of the house was very clean, but the kitchen was a different story. We went out for dinner, and when we came back, there was still warm pasta in the kitchen, as well as bread left on the table. This made us realize that someone had actually been in the house while we were out. We also found personal items such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and condoms in a small storage space next to our bed. All of this gave us the strong impression that this was the owners' main home and that they simply leave temporarily when they rent it out. This made us feel quite uncomfortable, almost as if we were staying in someone else's private home rather than in a holiday rental. It was an unusual and rather unsettling feeling, and unfortunately, it affected our overall experience. The house itself is beautiful and has a lot of potential, but because of this experience, we would not choose to stay here again.
